Hello, I’m Satoko Allen, founder and lead educator of Ohisama Learning Preschool in Bellevue, Washington.
For over 17 years, I have worked with young children and families, helping them develop not only academic foundations, but also curiosity, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
My educational approach is inspired by
Harvard Project Zero’s Making Thinking Visible framework,
inquiry-based learning,
STEAM education, and
the belief that children learn best when they are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and think for themselves.
Throughout my career, I have combined Japanese educational values with innovative, child-centered practices to create meaningful learning experiences that nurture both intellectual and social-emotional growth.
My goal is not simply to teach children what to think,
but to help them learn how to ask questions, explore possibilities, collaborate with others, and develop the confidence
and to share their own ideas in an ever-changing world.
I look forward to learning and growing together with your child.
